SCREEN PRINT WORKSHOPS / FEBRUARY 2009

FEBRUARY 2009 SCHEDULE:

‘Basic’ - Wednesdays: 4th, 11th, 18th
‘Intermediate’ - Thursdays: 5th, 12th, 19th
‘Advanced’ - Fridays: 6th, 13th, 20th

All above dates are for (1) class only
2 - 4 students per class
Every class begins @ 6:30pm and ends at 9:30pm.

The 'Basics' class will cover everything you need to know about how to setup, expose, and prep screens for printing. We'll also cover which screens work best for different types of artwork.

Each student will then select a stock screen w/image art from our screen rack and use it to begin printing. As the class ends you'll be able to bring home your printed tee shirt or paper print.

The 'Intermediate' class teaches each student about the following:
color separation / basics via photoshop & illustrator computer programs.
film set up for multi-color registration / pre-exposure of screens.
creating registration guides / prepping your print area.
This class will mainly center around printing for paper surfaces.

The 'Advanced' class covers half-tones and CMYK/process-printing.
The cost of this class also includes: (1) 20” x 24” aluminum frame screen (230 mesh count) / (1) 14” medium durometer squeegee.
Student homework before they attend this class: find an old black and white photo of your choice and email it to me.
I will then output the film, set up your screen, expose/washout your image. It will be ready for you to print at class.

*To keep pace with the ‘Advanced’ class - It is recommended that students enroll in the first two classes.

*Please note: Polluted Eyeball Screenprinting Studio will supply the following:
Practice paper, basic water-based ink colors, various sized squeegees, ink stirrers/spreaders

If you would like to print on your own paper or tee shirts please feel free to bring them with you.

IMPORTANT:
In order to secure a space in each of our classes, each student must place a 50% non-refundable deposit no later than the Tuesday evening prior to the upcoming class.

Basic - $60.00
Intermediate - $75.00
Advanced - $125.00 (screen $25.00 + squeegee $15.00)
